Principal

Veronica Schaeffer, M.Ed.
Veronica Schaeffer graduated from Waxahachie High School in 2006. She subsequently earned a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M Commerce, motivated by her passion for education. Mrs. Schaeffer began her teaching career in 2010 as a sixth-grade Writing instructor at Clift Middle School in Waxahachie. Over the next five years, she served as an elementary-level educator, teaching sixth-grade English Language Arts at Finley Junior High in Waxahachie—while also coaching volleyball and track—sixth-grade ELAR in Lubbock ISD, and fifth-grade ELAR in Midlothian ISD.
Before joining Shackelford Elementary, Mrs. Schaeffer was principal at Turner Prekindergarten Academy. Her strong interest in early childhood education and instructional leadership inspired her to obtain a master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas-Dallas in 2014. After completing her Principal Certification, she returned to Waxahachie in 2015 to become the Assistant Principal at Wedgeworth Elementary. In 2019, she was appointed principal of Turner Prekindergarten Academy and later named principal of Shackelford Elementary. Mrs. Schaeffer is honored to be part of Shackelford Elementary, where her dedication to children and community service continues to flourish.

Assistant Principal

Paige Davis, M.Ed.
Paige Davis was born and raised in Mansfield, Texas, where she attended Mansfield Legacy High School. She earned her Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas State University in 2015. Mrs. Davis began her teaching career with Waxahachie ISD at Wedgeworth Elementary, where she taught first grade for five years. After three years with WISD, she pursued her passion for educational leadership by enrolling at Tarleton State University. She completed her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and obtained her Principal Certification in the spring of 2021.
Mrs. Davis is deeply committed to fostering a collaborative educational environment. She has been an active participant in the CEIC and DEIC committees at both Wedgeworth and Shackelford Elementary, representing her schools with dedication. Most recently, she transitioned to teaching third grade at Shackelford Elementary, where she embraced and promoted the school’s growth mindset. Mrs. Davis is known for her innovative approach and enthusiasm, and she is excited to continue serving her campus and students in her role as Assistant Principal.
